All services are free and confidential.
The Middle Way House Legal Advocacy team supports survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence, and human trafficking. We recognize that navigating the legal system can be complicated and intimidating. Our goal is to guide and support you through this process. Please note that we do not offer legal advice or representation. Our advocates assist survivors in six southern Indiana counties: Monroe, Greene, Lawrence, Owen, Morgan, and Martin.
Legal advocates are available at the New Wings Administrative Building from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM. Walk-ins are welcome; however, it may be helpful to call ahead so that an advocate can expect you. No prior relationship with Middle Way House is necessary to receive legal advocacy services.
Outside of Monroe County, advocates are also available at our outreach offices in Greene, Owen, and Martin counties. We assist clients both over the phone and in person with issues such as protective orders, safety planning, divorce petitions, and custody options. Additionally, we may refer clients to pro bono and reduced-fee legal programs, private attorneys, therapists, and other valuable resources, including The Hope Card, the Address Confidentiality Program, and survivor’s compensation.
