Wish Lists
Please consider making a donation from our Amazon Wish List or online donation form.
Thank you for your interest in donating items from our current Wish List! Your gifts help support survivors and their children who leave behind many of their personal belongings when they enter emergency shelter or our transitional housing programs. Many items are needed in the shelter; however we also provide survivors with items when they leave the shelter so that their families can have a head start on setting up a household — whether their new home is at The RISE! (our transitional housing program), or elsewhere in the community.
Donations for the emergency shelter can be dropped off at our administrative office (338 S. Washington St., Bloomington, IN 47401) Monday – Friday from 9 am – 5 pm; for additional information, please call, (812) 333-7404, to speak with the Emergency Shelter’s house manager, Gina. Items for our transitional housing program, The RISE!, can be dropped off at 401 S. Washington St, Bloomington, IN 47401, Monday – Friday; prior to dropping off donations, please call The RISE!, (812) 337-4510, to schedule a drop-off time.
You can also contact us by email with any questions about donations at:
ginae@middlewayhouse.org (for the emergency shelter)
surabhi@middlewayhouse.org (for The RISE!)
riseandshine@middlewayhouse.org (for the childcare program)

IMPORTANT: Due to health code restrictions, we are unable to accept donations of used mattresses, used pillows, used stuffed animals, or partially used toiletry items (lotions, etc.).

Memorial Funds
Our memorial funds commemorate former staff members who dedicated their lives to the fight against violence.
If you want to donate to one of these memorial funds, through the donation link, you can select what the donation is for.
Martha Voyles dedicated her life to standing with others in times where a friend or advocate was needed. For 27 years, Martha touched the lives of survivors and their children at The RISE! She also made time to advocate for criminal justice reform and many other causes. Martha believed in kindness and offering support unconditionally and without expectations. A dedicated mother working in social work, Martha also understood that sometimes what stood between peace and stability for families could be as small as a car repair, a month or two of rent, or a washing machine. Martha’s kindness, empathy, and ability to connect with ALL survivors without judgement allowed her to build strong partnerships with those she worked with.
The extended Voyles family decided to set up the Martha Voyles Fund for residents of The RISE! to honor their mother’s lifelong commitment to helping survivors. Taken from a song by her favorite band, the Grateful Dead, our hope is that this fund will create ripples of positivity throughout people’s lives as they get the support they say they need when they need it most. The Martha Voyles Fund provides survivors with financial support for their stated needs. The love and wisdom that Martha shared so effortlessly with us all is a true gift that we will carry with us in our future work. If you would like to contribute to the Martha Voyles Fund, you can make a donation through our online portal or mail a check to Middle Way House’s PO Box 95, Bloomington, IN 47402.

The Toby Strout Fund for Education and Infrastructure was created to maintain Middle Way House’s general infrastructure as well as pay for education-related expenses for our clients and residents. Toby believed in the importance of education and wanted to create a fund designated towards assisting residents and clients with class registration fees, bus passes to reach campuses, and financial aid for textbooks and school supplies. To contribute to the Toby Strout Fund for Education and Infrastructure, you can make a donation through our online portal or mail a check to Middle Way House’s PO Box 95, Bloomington, IN 47402.
