Legal Advocacy

We are here to support you as you navigate the legal system.

Call (812) 336-0846 to speak
with a legal advocate.

All services are free and confidential.

The Middle Way House Legal Advocacy team assists survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence, and human trafficking. We understand that the legal system can be complicated and intimidating, and we are here to guide and support you through the process. We do not offer legal advice or provide legal representation. Our advocates serve survivors throughout six southern Indiana counties: Monroe, Greene, Lawrence, Owen, Morgan, and Martin.

Legal advocates are available at the New Wings Administrative Building Monday – Friday from 8 AM – 6 PM. Walk-ins are welcome, but it may be helpful to call ahead to let an advocate know to expect you. No prior relationship with Middle Way House is required to receive legal advocacy services. Outside of Monroe County, advocates are available at our three county outreach offices located in Greene, Owen, and Martin counties. We work with clients both over the phone and in-person to help with issues such as protective orders, safety planning, divorce petitions, and custody options. We may also make referrals to pro bono and reduced-fee legal programs, private attorneys, therapists, and other helpful resources including The Hope Card, Address Confidentiality, or survivor’s compensation.
