Queer Talk Reading Group

October 21, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Tonight, our conversation centers on questions that have emerged for us:
How might we support survivors who are criminalized for Sex Work? How might survivors and circle holders for healing process negotiate bad feelings that come up in or about the process? and what are the tools for navigating competing needs within us- as survivors, and more broadly, within anti-violence organizing?
To do this, we are reading three essays from the Book Beyond Survival: When Your Money Counts on it: Sex Work and Transformative Justice; I would Like to Return my TJ process; and _Vent _Diagrams as Healing Practice.
This book is electronically available on hoopla with a (free) MCPL library account. Join us if you are interested even if you haven’t had time to fully read the chapters.
In Partnership with MCPL, this book club is intended to be affirming for all who identify as LGBTQIA+. Even if you can’t join us tonight, you are invited to join us in this brave space onward to discuss books written by and for LGBTQIA+ individuals. Age 16 & up.
First and Third Wednesday of every month 6:30-8:30 PM. For zoom link and if you have any questions, please contact our Prevention Program Coordinator, Lindsey Badger at: prevention@middlewayhouse.net
