Middle Way House, Inc., will receive sealed quotes for a Fire Alarm Smart Panel at 401 S. Washington Street, Bloomington, Indiana.

 Sealed quotes will be received in the office of Middle Way House, 338 S. Washington Street, Bloomington, Indiana, at or before 4:00pm local time on December 25th, 2019. They will be opened and publicly read aloud at 4:00pm local time on January 2nd, 2020.   No quotes will be accepted for any reason after the specified deadline.  All interested citizens are invited to attend and should any citizens require special provisions, such as handicapped modifications or non-English translation personnel, the Board will provide such provisions as long as the request is made by December 30th, 2019.

 A pre-quote inspection of the site is available.  Please contact Jennifer Parker, Site Manager, at 812-337-4510 for additional information about the project.

This project is to be completed as soon as possible.

Equal Employment Opportunity requirements as set forth in Executive Order 11246 apply to the work to be performed under this contract.  Specific affirmative action requirements are outlined in the contract documents.

Wages to be paid shall be set by the U. S. Department of Labor.  A preliminary wage rate determination is included in the bid documents.  The final wage determination will be established on the December 11th, 2019.

 Quotes may be held by Middle Way House for a period not to exceed twenty days from the date of the opening of quotes, for the purpose of reviewing the quotes and investigating the qualifications of the quotes prior to awarding the Contract.  No quote shall be withdrawn during this period without the consent of Middle Way House.  Middle Way House reserves the right to waive any informalities and to accept or reject any and all proposals submitted.

Beginning in 2018, it will be $12.64 an hour, and again up to $1.90 of that amount may be in the form of health insurance available to the covered employee. You have to complete a LWO certification form which is available on the website or from the Contract Compliance Officer.

What social services grants are covered?

CDBG, Jack Hopkins Social Services Funds and any awards under any new social service programs the Bloomington Common Council determines will be subject to the LWO. (BMC 2.28.020(b)(4).) Covered subsidies are defined as “authorization or approval of grants for the operation of social service agency programs.” The LWO does not cover subsidies for initiatives unrelated to operating programs, such as construction and equipment. It does not cover grants for physical improvement under CDBG. Nor does it cover grants for equipment, such as refrigerators, computers, loading docks, etc., under Jack Hopkins.
